What is a Giclee
A Giclee’ (zhee-clay) is a high resolution high tech reproduction done on a special large format printer. Giclee’s are individually produced from digital scans. They are normally printed on either paper or canvas.
Giclee’s use ink jet technology far more sophisticated than your desk top printer. These large format printers employ more ink colors; higher quality pigmented inks and finer more numerous print heads. Those improvements result in a wider color gamut and truer shades and hues.
Edition sizes are typically low by historical standards. They are priced well below original art and provide a high quality alternative for both collector and artist.
